Heavenly Father, You preside in the great assembly; You render judgment among the “gods”: “How long will this people defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked?” We are to defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. (Psa. 82:1-4)
Holy Spirit we pray for peace in our country. We pray for Your justice for man’s justice is flawed. We pray for our brothers and sisters of color who have lived in fear for generations. We pray that we may show love and understanding. Help all of us in this country to start to build Your kingdom here on earth as it is in heaven so that all will see that all of us are made in Your image. You, my God, are light, which means all colors exist in You, unlike Satan who is darkness or the lack of any color. Help all of us to learn patience, forgiveness, understanding and compassion. Teach us to demonstrate love to our neighbors and to not fear those who are different than us.
Holy Spirit I pray for all the Haitians who live in our country. I pray that they will all learn who You are and find salvation. Help them to prosper and become part of the family. I also ask for mercy for the Haitians in Haiti. This country needs You desperately and it needs people to come and help them rebuild, create order, feed the hungry, give homes to the homeless, help stabilize what little economy they have, help the orphans and teach salvation to all who will listen. Holy Spirit we pray that out of all the destruction, financial collapse, disorder and chaos a new people who honor Your name can make a new country that demonstrates love, togetherness, a brother and sisterhood not seen anywhere else in the world. We pray that You will not only send workers, but blessings to this country who has so long been under Satan’s thumb. We pray that You will remove any principalities, demons or evil that has suppressed this country. We pray that Your Spirit will roam through this land and find people who will let You into their lives and then will shine like stars to this country which is so dark with fear and depression.
Holy Spirit I pray for our country here. We are so divided and so full of anger and hate. We need Your love, compassion, justice, wisdom and discernment. Let Your church stand united, hand in hand, regardless of color or doctrine, and become true houses of prayer. Let a mighty revival breathe new life into our country backed by true intercessors who are willing to pray, fast, and proclaim Your message by their actions and their love to others. Help us to humble ourselves as Christ did and to serve our fellow man so that the world will see a new kind of love and not judgment from the church. Let us in the church understand that we are not the Judge but You are. We are to love, to assist, to help, to stand for the lost, the downtrodden, the weak, the homeless, the fatherless, the unborn, for the people treated with injustice. We are to be the body of Christ that heals, loves, teaches forgiveness, demonstrates hope and speaks wisely with compassion and truth.
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. For we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably. But I especially urge you to do this, ….Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever.
