Cleanse Me

Have mercy on me, O God, because of Your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night. Against You, and You alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in Your sight. You will be proved right in what You say, and Your judgement against me is just. For I was born a sinner—yes, from the moment my mother conceived me. But You desire honesty from the womb, teaching me wisdom even there. Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me—now let me rejoice. Don’t keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from Your presence, and don’t take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. Then I will teach Your ways to rebels, and they will return to You…Unseal my lips, O Lord, that my mouth may praise You. (Psa. 51:1-15, NLT)

Heavenly Father You are rich in mercy, You made me alive with Christ even when I was dead in transgressions—it is by grace that I have been saved. And You raised me up with Christ and seated me with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to me. For it is by grace I have been saved, through faith—and this is not of myself, for it is the gift of God—not by works, so that I could never boast. For I am God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which You prepared in advance for me to do. (Eph. 2:4-10, NIV)  So, now I approach Your throne of grace with confidence, so that I may receive mercy and find grace to help me in my time of need. (Heb. 4:16) I come with an open heart seeking to be a living sacrifice for You and to have my mind, spirit and body renewed in Your wisdom, knowledge and discernment.  Teach me today that I may lean on Your wisdom and not my own.  Let the word I say, the things I think about, meditate on all be acceptable to You so that I may enjoy the presence of the Holy Spirit and have communion with Him.  Let me be strong and courageous because of my faith in You. Help me to wear my spiritual armor so that I can withstand the devil and any temptation that comes my way.  Help me to stay in constant prayer for all those I know who need Your salvation, mercy, grace and most of all Your love.  Let me fill the gap and be the prayer warrior that petitions before Your throne on their behalf so that they have time to learn and trust in You.

My heart rejoices in You, Lord; My horn is exalted by You…I rejoice in Your salvation.  No one is holy like You, for there is none besides You, nor is there any rock like my God.  Talk no more so very proudly; let no arrogance come from my mouth, for the Lord is the God of knowledge; and by Him actions are weighed…The Lord makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up. He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory.  For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He has set the world upon them.  He will guard the feet of His saints, but the wicked shall be silent in darkness.  For by strength no man shall prevail, the adversaries of the Lord shall be broken in pieces; from heaven He will thunder against them.  The Lord will judge the ends of the earth.  He will give strength to me, and exalt the horn of His anointed. 1Samuel 2:1-10  In Jesus Christ who are salvation comes from, amen.
