Walking Through Open Doors

Heavenly Father I come and ask to take command of my morning. Let me fill my day with praise to You and keep a Christ-like attitude and mindset. Let me seize the day full of opportunities and be cognizant of the Holy Spirit’s promptings to be a doer of the word and build Your kingdom in any way that I can do. I praise You for creating within me a desire to teach, assist, and love on people. I praise You for giving me a good foundation to stand on the wisdom I have learned and to be flexible enough to continue to learn so that I can be all that You created me to be.

Holy Spirit I praise You for the opportunities lately that I have had to witness and share with people who You are within me. I praise You for teaching me to speak boldly and to have discernment to walk through doors that present themselves to me. I continue to ask for the courage to speak and to tell people even at the risk of rejection or getting into trouble. Let me always be in tune with You so I can step in faith to do what I should be doing. Don’t let me lose opportunities so that someone else has to pick up what I dropped or didn’t do. Life is too short here on the earth to miss letting people know of Your salvation and light. Help me to take to heart what you inspired Mark to write: Jesus said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name, they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well. [Mark 16:15-18(NIV)]

Therefore, let me not sleep like others. But let me be alert and sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night. But let me, who is of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not appointed me to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for me, so that whether I am awake or asleep, I will live together with Him. So, I will comfort myself, and edify my brothers and sisters. I will acknowledge those who labor around me, and/or are appointed over me in the Lord, and instruct me. I will esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among the members of the body of Christ. I have been exhorted, to warn those who are unruly, comfort the faint-hearted, support the weak, and be patient toward everyone. I will not render evil for evil to anyone. But always seek to do good to others. I will rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning me. I will not quench the Spirit. Nor will I despise prophecies. I will examine all things. Firmly hold onto what is good. Abstain from all appearances of evil. May the very God of peace sanctify me completely. And I pray to God that my whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. For I know that faithful is He who calls me, for He also will do it. Amen. 1 Thessalonians 5:6-24
