To Act or Not to Act

Heavenly Father I praise You for today and for the sun that is just starting to rise. I praise You for giving me the privilege of taking control of my morning. I ask through You that this morning be blessed and honored by You. I seek to gain wisdom, understanding, and discernment to face my day to day. Heavenly Father I praise You for the air I breathe to continue to live here and now until it is my time to leave and come home.

Holy Spirit You inspired James, Christ’s half brother to write a letter to the churches, and in this letter, he gave us the nugget of wisdom that says: Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, it is sin. [James 4:17] Sitting on the sidelines and doing nothing is as bad as doing what we know to be wrong. God will not let us interfere with his plans. We need to be people who do, not just people who hear. Help me to be a person who learns to live my life to the fullest I possibly can. Please help me to actively grow the fruits of the spirit in my life. Help me to be like Caleb and even at the age of 80 still decided to take the promises God had granted him. This meant he had to remove the giants, and garbage and do the daily grind to build a home that would honor God. He lived his life and I want to live mine too with the philosophy that I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

But you, man [or woman] of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen. 1Timothy 6:11-16
