Playing Offense

Heavenly Father I give You Praise for today. I praise You so that rocks and mountains don’t still my thunder. I praise You for being King of Kings, Lord of Lords, and my Creator. I praise You for the gift of Jesus coming to live with us, for us, and dying and then rising again so that I can be saved and become an adopted child of Your kingdom. I praise You for the Holy Spirit who dwells within me a living temple for You. I praise You for the Holy Spirit giving me wisdom and helping me to take command of my mornings so that I am taking the initiative instead of just reacting.

Today I will become a living sacrifice for You. I will put on the full armor of God so that I am protected and armed to fight the spiritual battles before me. I will try to renew my mind all day long so that I am focused, aware, and listening for my chance to serve You with all my heart. Though I walk in the flesh, I do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of my warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. For I dare not count or compare myself with those who commend themselves. They who measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another are not wise. I always will seek wisdom for it is more valuable than gold or rubies. Solomon wrote: if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you, that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; if you cry out for discernment, and lift your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the paths of justice, and preserves the way of His saints. I will then understand righteousness and justice, equity, and every good path. [2 Corinthians 10:3-5; 2 Corinthians 10:12; Proverbs 2:1-9]

Today I will move forward, seeking God with all my heart. For I know that sometimes the best defense is a good offense. I will take my battle to the enemy. I will seek to learn, understand, and do the will of God. I will push forward to claim new territory and to seek to win hearts and minds to the kingdom of God. I will use the most powerful weapons that God has given me, a heart that desires wisdom, seeks discernment, pushes the blood of love through my being, and eats of the fruit of the spirit to strengthen my body and fortify my temple. I will use my ability to listen and speak when the Spirit leads me. I will stand united with my brothers and sisters worldwide and pray and talk to God so that I can emulate Enoch and walk with God. I seek to be like Job and take back all that the enemy has stolen from me, especially my joy. I will carry my banner of faith so that all can know that I serve the risen, one true God.

Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain! So God grant me what I request as you did for the author, Jabez, of this prayer. In Jesus’ name amen. 1Chronicles 4:9&10
