The Way I Should Live Each Day

I rejoice always, praying without ceasing, in everything I try to give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for me. O Lord, You are my God; I will exalt You and praise Your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago. [1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; Isaiah 25:1]

Holy Spirit help me to face today with praise in my heart. Help me to take command of my morning and live life fulfilling my purpose and growing in faith and wisdom. Let me offer myself as a living sacrifice for You and constantly work at renewing my mind so that my thoughts, heart, and intentions are geared toward following and doing Your will. Help me to be slow to speak, better at listening, and allow You to direct how I react to all things that happen in my life today. Help me to not cause pain to others, expand my territory, live as peaceably as I can with those around me and to represent You as well as I can with a forgiving heart that demonstrates grace. Help me to stand firmly on Your principles and statutes so that I can be counted as righteous, knowing that I am not perfect and still have much to learn and grow in. Help me to keep pride, rebellion, bitterness, hate, and anger bound here on the earth and in heaven while I try to loose love, joy, peace, and encouragement through who I am and how I live.

Praise be to You, God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed me in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For He chose me in him before the world's creation to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined me to be adopted as his son through Jesus, in accordance with His pleasure and will—to the praise of His glorious grace, which he has freely given me in the One he loves. In Him I have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on me with all wisdom and understanding. And He made known to me the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment—to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. In Him I was also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, so that I, who has the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory. And I also was included in Christ when I heard the word of truth, the gospel of my salvation. Having believed, I am marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing my inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. Amen. Ephesians 1:3-14
