Heavenly Father, I come before You and give You honor and glory. I give praise to You for all of Your creation and for Your love towards man. I praise You for loving me even though I feel small, weak, and insignificant at times. I praise You that through You I have still clung to hope.
Holy Spirit, as I read about You talking to Solomon, I saw a piece of wisdom; it is written: As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever. [1 Chronicles 28:9] Then You inspired Solomon to write: For I considered all this in my heart, so that I could declare it all: that the righteous and the wise and their works are in the hand of God. People know neither love nor hatred by anything they see before them. [Ecclesiastes 9:1] I know You know my heart and my thoughts. I know that You even groan or speak for me when I can find no words to say in Your presence. I know I fail to show love, patience, long-suffering, and many of the fruits of the Spirit as I should. I know there are days I let anger and frustration enter my heart, and I must come before You on my knees and ask for forgiveness. I know I am not perfect and I know my failures. I also know that You know the most intimate details about me. You created me for a purpose that I strive desperately to grasp and fulfill. I am only forgiven and striving to be righteous, not proud, not sanctimonious, but at peace and with meekness as my desired goal. I am a broken man that walks with care and burdens, but with hopes and dreams that seem so distant now. I can only lay myself at Your feet and weep and pray I have enough faith to finish my race properly and with all that I have left in me.
And this is my prayer: let my love abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that I may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. Amen. Philippians 1:9-11
