Heavenly Father, I praise You that we can come to You and ask, seek, and knock, knowing You will give us an answer. I praise You for being a God who assists us daily in how we should live and walks with us through our day as the Holy Spirit resides within our hearts, motivating our steps. Help me to remove the sin and avoid the temptations of today so that I can rest peacefully tonight, having served You with all my heart, mind, and soul.
Holy Spirit, You inspired James to write: If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. [James 1:5] I am asking that You provide wisdom, discernment, and understanding to my son this week, as he has some decisions to consider that will affect him in many ways. Assure him of what the right way is for him at this time and to be strong in understanding what You desire of him from all of this.
In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps. By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life. Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me. Let this be so especially right now in my son’s life. Amen.
