Praying over My Children

Heavenly Father I have been blessed to be a father to three children who all grew to adulthood. One child was of a miracle birth, but his time was cut short. I praise You for the son and daughter I still have who have become adults. I praise You that I still have a talking relationship with them.

Holy Spirit I praise You for my daughter who is more than I would have ever imagined to become when I held her as a tiny baby. She has become a woman now and is married with children of her own. I praise You for the time I had as she grew up and now for the times when she can visit with us. I praise You for helping her to be a person unafraid to make decisions and for her talent at writing. I pray You will keep her and her family safe and from evil. I pray You will continue to give her wisdom to rear her children and be industrious in her home. I pray that You will be a part of her marriage and her family. Your Spirit will talk to her and guide her and give her discernment, knowledge, and wisdom so that she can walk with understanding as to the purpose that You uniquely created her for.

Holy Spirit I praise You for my son who has grown beyond me. I praise You for leading him into ministry and for helping him get a home. I pray that You will give him wisdom on what job or jobs he should do next so that he can continue to work with teens. Lead his heart to become compassionate, wise, discerning, and bold. Help him in all relationships and help him improve his communication skills. Help Joe navigate his current environment and help him to be honoring to You. Let him grow in wisdom, knowledge, and discernment and walk with an understanding of how he can fulfill the purpose You created him for. Guide his heart, protect his mind, and help him harness his mouth and his attitude. Keep him safe from harm and evil.

Holy Spirit I pray a double blessing of the boldness and leadership of both Caleb and Ruth over my children. Help them to learn to be wise, but also gentle when needed. Help them to learn to listen with their hearts, minds, and ears. Let them see the world open to the wonder of who you are.

I pray and ask that my son and daughter may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that they may walk worthy of You, fully pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of You; strengthened with all might, according to Your glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified them to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. You have delivered them from the power of darkness and conveyed them into the kingdom of the Son of Your love, in whom they have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. You are the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by You, all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through You for You. And You are before all things, and in You, all things exist. And You are the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things You may have the preeminence. In Your blessed Son Jesus’ name, Amen.
