Contentment verses Anxiety

Heavenly Father I praise You for today and for the realization that time continues to move and change is continual. I praise You for all the experiences I have had in life but also for the ones yet to come. I seek wisdom but am thankful for the wisdom I have already incorporated into my life.

Not that I (speak) pray in regards to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things, I have learned to abound and suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I am also aware that my God will meet all my needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. [Philippians 4:11-13; Philippians 4:19] Even though this is true in my life I still desire to continue forward, cause change in my community, and see needs that I must pray over. I face many financial challenges daily, weekly, and annually that makes me appreciate having a job, savings, and a God who meets my needs.

And this is my prayer: that my love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight so that I may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. Amen. Philippians 1:9-11
