Heavenly Father, I praise You today for the fact that You gave us intelligence, will, a spirit, and a soul. I praise You for being created in Your image and for giving us the ability to choose and to accept salvation. I praise You for putting faith in me, and that I can put my faith in You. Help me today to take command of my day and shake the evil from it, and help me to pray continuously over my family, community, and my fellow believers.
Holy Spirit, I have always desired to deepen my prayer and faith. I seek to have the boldness of faith that the first church in the Book of Acts testifies to. I seek to allow Your Spirit to work through me, with me, and to lead me to have enough faith to see miracles, wonders, and continually be astounded by the God I serve. Help me to truly see with spiritual eyes so that I do not miss all that God is doing in my life and the lives around me. Help me to have the wisdom to learn, the knowledge to know, the understanding to do, and the discernment to follow You with all that I am. Help me to join in faith with others to pray that Your kingdom come to my part of the world and move in mighty ways. To confound the wise of the world while serving the least of these.
Help me to have the childhood faith that allows nothing to be impossible for You or for me to accept less than all from You. I know life will not be perfect or without trouble, what I seek is to believe like Caleb, be courageous like Joshua and David, to be wise like Nehemiah, to be bold like Peter, John, Philip and Paul and to most of all be known for serving You with Your Spiritual blessing like Steven. I seek to have faith as strong as my grandparents and to boldly walk with meekness and humility, fearing nothing anymore but being wise to live so that Christ is glorified in all that I am and do. I seek to see beyond the normal so that I can catch a glimpse of the spectacular.
This is my desire. I know and understand that it often comes with a price tag, but nothing is truly gained that is not sacrificed and struggled for. The disciples did great things, but they suffered a martyr's death. Caleb did not get to enter the promise land until well into his 80s. Joshua entered the promise land but had to suffer fickle people. Nehemiah constantly had to prepare for enemies to attack while he rebuilt Jerusalem. Steven was stoned for his faith.
I do not know if I am as strong as any of these, but you also know my heart and mind, so I freely talk to You about my desires, for You know fully why I was created and the purpose You started in me that I must fulfill. You gave me a great heritage of a family who have been prayer warriors, pastors, laymen, and servants to You. I have warriors and artists, and strong people in my lineage. Help me to be worthy to carry on the passion to serve You until I take my last breath and step into eternity. Guide my words, embolden my heart, give me courage and boldness when needed, but the humility that I can do nothing without You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
