Protection

Heavenly Father, I praise You for being my strong tower in the storm. I praise You for the example in Psalms about being a tree planted by the water. I praise You for giving wisdom and discernment in times of need through the Holy Spirit so that I can do what is right when it is right. Help me to take command of my day and shake all the evil from it.

I will humble myself, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift me in due time. I will cast all my anxiety on him because he cares for me. I will do my best to be self-controlled and alert. My enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. I will resist him, standing firm in the faith, because I know that my brothers and sisters throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. [1 Peter 5:6-9] I will turn to You and seek directions so that I will know whether to stand or walk through the storm as it lashes out at me. You are my shield, my fortress, my comfort, my God all all-powerful who made the stars, the heavens, the world, and me. I know that You alone are more than any trouble that attacks me. I will

walk through the shadow of the valley of death and fear no evil, for I have been cleansed by the blood of Christ through Calvary and given redemption through salvation to take my place as an adopted heir to heaven. Nothing is impossible for God in whom I put all my trust, faith, and hope. I will no longer worry about my life here, for this is just a step along the journey to my home in eternity.

For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen me with power through His Spirit in my inner being, so that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith. And I pray that I, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that I may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
