Heavenly Father, I give You praise for the testimonies of the Bible and the testimonies I hear daily. I praise You for allowing me to listen and learn from people who have known You much more intimately than I have. I praise You for the heritage I was born into, where they serve You as best they can. Help me today to take command of my day and shake evil from it. Help me to control my tongue and speak wisely. Lead me so that I can be discerning about what I need to do and of people I must lead or work with.
Therefore, having been justified by faith, I have peace with God through my Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also I now have access by faith into this grace in which I have learned to stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but I am learning to glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in my heart by the Holy Spirit who was given to me and
other believers. There is now no condemnation for me because I am in Christ Jesus. After all, through Christ Jesus, the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. Since I am led by the Spirit of God, I can be counted as one of the sons of God. [Romans 5:1-5; Romans 8:1&2; Romans 8:14] Help me to internalize and live these verses out so that I can truly live as a son of God and to abide in Him and to fulfill my purpose. For my life to truly have meaning and hope, I have to fully appreciate that You made me a purpose and supplied me with talents, tendencies, and the will of spirit to do what I was created specifically for. I know that You created me unlike the animals of this world to have free will to choose and the ability to reason and think. Help me to be guided by Your wisdom, through knowledge gained by Your word, the experiences You have walked with me through, and to use my understanding to fully enjoy and immerse myself in Your will. Let me be discerning and be perceptive of Your Spirit guiding me each step on my journey until it is my time to go home and rest, and then live in eternity as I was originally intended to live. I realize eternity will not be angel wings and harps lying on clouds, but the beginning of a life that was Your expectation when You created man long ago, but we will be removed from sin, evil, and destruction, and will experience the fullness of who You are.
For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen me with power through His Spirit in my inner being, so that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith. And I pray that I, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that I may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all I ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within me, to Him be glory, Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever!
