Being Sent by Jesus

Heavenly Father, I give You glory, honor, and praise for sending Your Son, Jesus, to live among us and to teach us and provide us with salvation, grace, mercy, and a new Kingdom to reconnect man to You. I praise You for the Holy Spirit who dwells within me and guides my thoughts, supplies Your wisdom, and gives me comfort and peace. I also praise You, Father, for making me unique, with a purpose, and for providing me with a desire to know You, as well as a will that helps me maintain my faith through all tests, trials, and life in general. Help me today to take command of my day and to shake the evil from it, to control my tongue and take captive all thoughts that may stray from my purpose or time with You in prayer.

Jesus told His disciples, “Peace be with you. As My Father sent Me, even so I send you.” “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works

that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to my Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it. And I will pray to the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.” [John 20:21; John 13:34&35; John 14:12-14; John 14:16-17 NKJV] Holy Spirit, I know that God’s will is for all who have accepted salvation, first must be willing to testify of that salvation and offer to help others get salvation. I know that second, we are to give support to one another and to take care of what the world considers the least of these. Finally, I aim to grow in wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and faith so that I can fulfill my individual purpose for which I was created. I am to invest my talents for the kingdom of God so that when I stand before God on the judgment day, He will say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” I also understand that daily I need to

abide in Christ through the Holy Spirit through prayer, desire, actions, and how I talk. I need to be in constant communication with the Spirit that resides in me since I am one of many living temples that walk this earth. Let me drink deeply of the living water You supply. Let me do, speak, and pray fervently to serve You and to get to know You. Help me to put on my spiritual armor so that I do not allow the enemy, the chaos of this world, or the evil of this world to entice me with the sin that they enjoy. Let me learn to find joy, peace, love, and purpose in my walk with You. Help me to learn to see, desire, and emulate You, my Savior, Creator, and Guide.

Holy Spirit, You inspired Paul to write: Since I am raised with Christ, I will learn to desire those things that are above, where Christ sits at the right hand of God. Help me to set my affection on things above, not be consumed or love for things on the earth. For I am dead, and my life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is my life, shall appear, then I also shall appear with Him in glory. Teach me to put to death the parts of my earthly nature: sexual immorality,

uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because I am learning these things, the wrath of God comes on the sons of disobedience. I used to live that life with them. I must now put away all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, and filthy language out of my mouth. I can no longer lie to others, for that was part of my old nature or way, because I am embracing the new nature to emulate Christ, who has and is becoming my all in all. Thank you for being my guide and prompter as I grow in Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen. [Colossians 3:1-11, MEV and paraphrased by me]
