Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them, and in whose spirit is no deceit. When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night, your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of the summer. Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin. Therefore let all the faithful pray to You while You may be found. [Psalm 32:1-6}
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons and daughters through Jesus, in accordance with His pleasure and will—to the praise of His glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him
we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment—to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:3-14
So, In Christ Jesus I am a child of God through faith, for I was baptized into Christ having clothed myself with Christ.
Since I belong to Christ, I am now considered to be of Abraham’s seed and heir, according to the promise. [Galatians 3:26-29] I am called to be free, but I will not use this freedom to indulge the flesh, rather I will serve others in humble love. The entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” So I will walk by the Spirit and I will not gratify the flesh. I will strive to always be led by the Spirit. [5:13-18]
Holy Spirit help me to be stronger and more faithful in my walk. Let me not abuse the gift of salvation and keep my focus on You so that You are allowed to keep Your focus on me. I understand that with the privilege of free will, I choose to follow or not follow. I also know that without Your help I am weak and prone to make bad choices alone. I need Your gentle push, soft voice, and word to help me make wise choices and live the way that I was created for. Let me live a life that is honoring to You and let me fulfill the purpose I was given before I was even formed in the womb.
Lord, I cry out to You; make haste to me! Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You. Let my prayer be set before You as incense, the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. Set a guard, O Lord over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips. Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, to practice wicked works with men who work iniquity; and do not let me eat of their delicacies. Amen. (Psalms 141:1-4)
