Heavenly Father I praise You for forgiveness and mercy on my failures, bad choices, and not always living up to the standard I should. I praise You for seeing my heart and understanding not just my actions but my intent too. Help me today to take command of my morning and shake all evil from it.
Holy Spirit I cry out as David did long ago to pray: Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the abundance of Your compassion, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions and my sin is ever before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done evil in Your sight, so that You are justified when You speak, and You are blameless when You judge. I was brought forth in my iniquity and sin, my mother conceived me. You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part, You make me to know wisdom. Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Make me hear joy and gladness, that the bones that You have broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me with Your willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will return to You. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of Your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. [Psalm 51:1-17]
Help me to continually reexamine my life and keep it holy before You. Help me to be humble enough to know that without Your grace, mercy, and salvation my life would be nothing and with no hope of eternity. Lead me to live as righteous as I can under Your leadership. Let me continue to offer myself to You and to abide in You. Amen.
