How are We to Use Our Spiritual Gifts that God Gives Us

Heavenly Father I praise You for not only saving me, walking with me, but also for the gifts You bestow on me here so that I may serve You better. I praise You for being my King, my Redeemer, My Comfort, My Joy, My Prompter, My Father and most of all being my Friend. I praise You for all of creation and all of what is yet to come.

The end of all things is near. Therefore, be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. [1 Peter 4:7-11] But by Your grace I am what I am, and Your grace towards me was not in vain. I labor more abundantly…yet not I, but Your grace which is in me. [1Cor. 15:10] For all of us have sinned and came short of Your glory, but I am being justified freely by Your grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom You sent forth to be a propitiation through faith, in His blood, for a demonstration of His righteousness, because in His forbearance You had passed over the sins I previously committed, to prove Your righteousness at this present time so that He might be just and be the justifier of me who has faith in Jesus. [Romans 3:23-26]

Holy Spirit help me to express like James that anyone who will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “He yearns jealously for the spirit that lives in us”? But He gives more grace. For this reason it says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” [James 4:5-6] Holy Spirit help me to understand how to be humble before God and all those around me. Help me to serve others with the spiritual gifts You give me to use. Help me to show no favoritism and to love all unconditionally as Christ did while He lived here on the earth as man. Teach me to be hospitable but wise, to speak with knowledge but with humility. Help me to handle my talents wisely but to also invest them to bring forth abundance for You at the right time. Speak to me and help me to know when to respond.

Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. For we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably. But I especially urge you to do this, ….Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen (Hebrews 13:14-21)
