Heavenly Father I praise You for sending us the Holy Spirit to walk with us each day and give us wisdom. I praise You for giving each of us different talents and gifts. I praise You for the people You place over me even if I do not agree with them all the time. I praise You that this life is only for a while and then we can really live. I praise You for the comfort You have brought to me especially this time of the year.
Holy Spirit I come to You today and seek Your wisdom and Your help. I interview once again for a principal job in the prison system. I would like to get this job since I have the training for it and it would put me closer to home. I only want this job if it is within Your will. If it is not then give me the grace to continue doing what I am doing. Help me to do my best at the interview. I know that I only will get this job if it is Your will because nothing is impossible for You.
Holy Spirit help me to desire what You desire, seek what You seek, see people the way You see people and to walk only where You want me to be. Let me be a living sacrifice daily for You so that I can be fully used by You. Do not let my desires, my cravings interfere with what You desire of me. Let me utilize and live fully in Your will making the most of my gifts and talents. Let me be like Isaiah and say here am I, use me. Holy Spirit help me to be like Daniel and come to You for all decisions in life. Let me to be like Caleb and see what the possibilities are as long as I trust in You. Help me to be like David, who was more concerned about Your reputation than losing his life to man of war and a giant. Help me to be like Peter and John ready to trust in You even if it means my reputation taking a hit. Help me to be so focused on You that like Paul I will not fear man, but seek to witness to all trying to build Your kingdom.
Holy Spirit help me to be so full of Your Spirit that like Stephen I do not allow bitterness of hatred to be a part of who I am even when I am attacked by others. Holy Spirit give me confidence to move forward in life until Christ returns. Help me to live to the full potential of my creation that You manifested before I was even in the womb of my mother. Help me to be light to my family, friends and all who I come in contact with. Let me never take credit for what You have done in me or through me.
And this is my prayer: that my love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that I may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.
