Guarding My Heart by Being Active

Heavenly Father I praise You for today and for all the possibilities that can occur. I praise You that life is not boring and so much into a rut that we miss the beauty around us. I praise You for being the creator and that Your creation still mystifies the greatest of man’s thinkers. Help me to take command of this morning to shake all the evil from it and to renew my mind.

Holy Spirit I know that to stay focused and in tune with You I must be doing what is right not just avoiding sin. Your word that You inspired says: Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love. My beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for man's anger does not work the righteousness of God. Lay aside all filthiness and remaining wickedness and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which can save your souls. Be doers of the word

and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. 1 Corinthians 15:58; 1 Corinthians 16:13, James 1:19&20; James 1:22; James 1:25] Help me to glean from these words and learn how to stand when needed but to do when that is needed. Help me to move forward in faith, good works, love, dreams, and goals so that I do not stay back looking down from the rooftop at sin and temptation as David did. Help me to be thick in the battle. Help me to know when to rest so that I do not become so weary that I let exhaustion and frustration open the door to deception, anger, and foolish mistakes as well as being blind to potential sin. Help me to find balance in life. Most of all help me not sever the communication between me and You. I need Your Spirit to warn me of sin, danger, and evil and then give me wisdom on how to travel a different way or fight my way through. Help me to renew my mind so that I am constantly refreshed, focused, and ready to do the will of God as a

living sacrifice and as a living temple for the Holy Spirit to dwell within.

I thank my God always concerning the grace of God which was given to me by Christ Jesus, that I am enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in me, so that I come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm me to the end, that I may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom I am called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. [1Corinthians 1:4-9]
