Fidelis in Parvo (Faithfulness in Little Things)

Heavenly Father I praise You this morning for being Father of all. I praise You for the free will that You have put upon our shoulders so that when we have a relationship it is a true fellowship relationship. I praise You for the sacrifice made by Jesus to give us a pathway to salvation and a relationship with You. I praise You for being a personable God and for the indwelling and leading of the Holy Spirit. Help me to never push this away and to become more alert, more aware, and more pliable to the promptings and speaking to me by Your Spirit.

Holy Spirit continue to grow in me a lifestyle that is doing Your will so that I have no time to allow temptation to get a foothold in my life. Help me to plan ahead of the way to escape or prevent sin from wearing me done or invading my thoughts as I go through the day. Let me always be accountable to my wife and closest friends so that I can live with integrity. Let me be like Joseph who was ready to constantly avoid and even run from his master’s wife who tried to seduce him. Help me to be doing what I am supposed to be doing so that I do not fall into the sins like Saul and David for doing the wrong thing making up for not doing what they were supposed to be doing. The price is just too high. Just like when I played sports, if I was focused on doing my job as a teammate then I failed to allow mistakes to lead to getting burned or missing an opportunity to score. Let me be zeroed in on Your voice, Your desire for me, Your promptings, and the doors You open so that I can live a fulfilled life with joy, love, peace, and a sound mind. Your word says: Be strong in the Lord and his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. I will put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, I may be able to stand my ground, and after I have done everything, stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around my waist, with breastplate of righteousness in place, and with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, I will take up my shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. I will take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, I must be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. [Ephesians 6:10-18] This daily task may seem small but it is the key to saving and preserving my integrity and my life.

Let me continually offer the sacrifice of praise to You, oh God, that is, the fruit of my lips, giving thanks to Your name. Help me to not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices You are well pleased. I will do my best to obey those who rule over me and be submissive for they watch out for my soul, and they will give account for how they lead. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for me. For I am confident that I have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably. But I especially am urged to do this. Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make me complete in every good work to do His will, working in me what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen (Hebrews 13:14-21)
