Coming Before God and Seeking Help

Praise the Lord! Praise God in His Sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heaven! Praise Him for His mighty works; praise His unequaled greatness! Praise Him with a blast of the ram’s horn; praise Him with the lyre and harp! Praise Him with the tambourine and dancing; praise Him with strings and flutes! Praise Him with a clash of cymbals; praise Him with loud clanging cymbals. Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord! Praise the Lord! [Psalm 150, NLT] 

Holy Spirit I come into Your throne room this morning as the writer in Hebrews explained: Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. I seek wisdom today to manage my day in a way where I will honor You, fulfill my responsibilities at work; gain knowledge to grow in knowing who You are through Your word, Authors you inspire, and music that helps my heart to worship; give me understanding so that I can not only learn Your will but begin doing it so that I please You and feel fulfilled; give me discernment so that I can clearly hear or know what Your Holy Spirit is trying to instill in me, warn me about, or to lead me when I meet and talk to all the people I will come in contact with today. Help me to listen and practice what the Apostle James was inspired by You to write: My beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for the anger of man does not work the righteousness of God. Lay aside all filthiness and remaining wickedness and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which can save your souls. Be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Help me not become so comfortable listening to Your word and wisdom taught or preached to me but to apply and live out Your word in my life, so all will hear Your good news and be saved or at least have their heart pricked by Your Spirit. [Hebrews 4:16, James 1:19 & 20, 22] 

For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches, he may strengthen me with power through His Spirit in my inner being, so that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith. And I pray that I, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that I may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all I ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within me, to Him be glory, Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21
