Praying through Psalms 23 & 25 Today

Heavenly Father I praise You for providing us the Bible and the people You inspired to write it and those You inspired to put it together so that we have it as a piece of wisdom to speak to You daily. I find myself right now relating to the Psalmist who wrote Psalms 23 and 25. Let these scriptures reflect my heart to You. Help me to feel the bond with the Psalmist and his heart when he was inspired by Your Holy Spirit to pen these Psalms. Let my heart, mind, and soul reflect, be sincere, and give these to You as a part of where I am today.

You, O Lord, are my shepherd; I shall not want. You make me lie down in green pastures; You lead me beside still waters and You restore my soul; You lead me in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Your house forever. [Psalm 23]

O Lord, I give my life to You. I trust in You, my God! Do not let me be disgraced, or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat. No one who trusts in You will ever be disgraced, but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others. Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by Your truth and teach me, for You are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in You. Remember, O Lord, Your compassion and unfailing love, which You have shown from long ages past. Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of Your unfailing love, for You are merciful, O Lord. For You are good and You do what is right; You show me the proper path so I will not go astray. You lead the humble in doing right, teaching them Your way. You lead with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep Your covenant and obey Your demands. For the honor of Your name, O Lord, forgive my many, many sins. I fear the Lord. You show me the path I should choose. I seek to live in prosperity, and my children will inherit the land. The Lord is a friend to those who fear Him. He teaches them His covenant. My eyes are always on the Lord, for He rescues me from the traps of my enemies. Turn to me and have mercy, for I am alone and in deep distress. My problems go from bad to worse. Oh, save me from them all! Feel my pain and see my trouble. Forgive all my sins. See how many enemies I have and how viciously they hate me! Protect me! Rescue my life from them! Do not let me be disgraced, for in You I take refuge. May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in You. O God. [Psalm 25]

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen! (2Corinthians 1:3-7)
