Continuing My Walk Each Day

Heavenly Father, You laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the works of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain; and they all will wear out like a garment; as a cloak You will fold them up, and they will be changed. But You are the same, and Your years will never end. (Heb. 1:10-12) You have been the same since before the creation of the world, during the time of the world and You will continue to be the same after the world is gone.

Therefore I should be more attentive to what I have read, learned and heard in my life so that I do not drift away. For if the word spoken by angels was true, and every sin and disobedience received a just recompense, how shall I escape if I neglect such a great salvation, which was first declared by the Lord, and was confirmed to me by all those who heard Him? God has also bore to me witnesses with signs and wonders and diverse miracles and with gifts from the Holy Spirit which was distributed according to His own will. (Heb. 2:1-4) I also understand this life is but a mere vapor quickly dispensed and gone.  I have seen many leave this life early or late before my time has come.  I must remain faithful until the end so that I can see Jesus and many of those I have loved who left before me.

Holy Spirit continue to prompt me, push me and help me to be diligent while I take each breath, have each thought, live my life so that I am constantly taking a step at a time doing the will of God.  Help me when I get depressed and want to give up.  Help me when I feel like I have accomplished something so that I do not get filled with pride and forget to keep walking in the presence of my King.  I want to continue to discern the will of God at each moment so that I continue to be filled with the Holy Spirit so I can witness to others by what I say, how I live, what I do, and where I go.  Help me to continue to grow in wisdom and cherish it as if it was rubies and gold.

Search me, and know my heart. Break me from pride and rebellion and foolish selfishness.  Send me to those I can help to learn how to talk to You and find Your salvation.  Let all that I say, think and do be honoring to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
