Cleanse and Use Me

Heavenly Father I praise You for a wonderful weekend up north even if there was snow. I praise You for the time of enjoying my children and grandchildren and slowing life down a little. I praise You for technology so I could see the Sun Rise service. I praise You for safety up to Gaylord and back. I praise You for the Foot Washing and Communion Service on Thursday night and for our community having a joint Good Friday service. 

Holy Spirit I come before You realizing that I am nothing. I seem to cause more chaos in life than harmony. I ask, just like David did long ago, check my heart, mind and soul and if there is any wicked way in me, in any selfish desire, wrong attitude I ask that You remove it from me. Help me to get along with people better than I have in the past. Help me to speak when I should speak and be quiet when I need to be quiet. Help me to live with others without causing confrontation unless it is appropriate which is not very often. 

Holy Spirit help me to start taking care of my temple better and to get it into shape and be honoring to You. Holy Spirit help me to be more useful at home and to be a living sacrifice for You. Help me to take to heart and meditate on this portion from Paul’s letter to the Romans 5:1-5—Therefore, having been justified by faith, I have peace with God through my Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also I have access by faith into this grace in which I stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but I also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in my heart by the Holy Spirit who was given to everyone, including me, that believes, tries to follow and loves Jesus, my Savior and King. 

For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21   cleanse
