Heavenly Father I praise You for teaching me that I must feed my spirit while starving my flesh so that I can grow in Your Spirit. I praise You for Your word which brings me comfort and helps me to learn who You are and read the testimonies of those who have gone before me. I praise You for being my savior and my redeemer.
Holy Spirit help me to heed the words of Paul when he was telling Timothy, “All who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. Continue in the things you have learned and have been assured of, knowing those from whom you have learned them, and that since childhood you have known the Holy Scripture, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through the faith that is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” [2Tim. 3:12-17]
Help me to realize the world will continue to get more evil, more distant from God’s righteousness and more confused about what is right and what is wrong. Help me to grow on the foundation of Your word, the testimony of saints who have faced trials before me and to trust in You with all of my heart, body and soul. Help me to breathe in Your word daily and to be renewed by it and then to breathe out Your Spirit onto the world who is desperate to know You and to see hope. Holy Spirit equip me each day with the scriptures, with wisdom and with my spiritual armor so that I can stand and battle the evil sent my way. Let me stand and pray so that I become a lighthouse for others to see the rocks of temptation and sail around them. Let me pray so that others can come to know who You are. Help me to pray so that Your Spirit is freed up to move through me to others in need. Thank You Jesus for Your gift of salvation and grace. Help me to be forgiving, demonstrate compassion and live as peaceably as possible with all people. Amen.
