Heavenly Father, I praise You for blessing me with very faithful friends. I praise You for teaching me what is needed to be a good friend. I give You continued praise for Your word and how the testimonies within are to teach me and lead me in how I should live.
Holy Spirit, I have filled in at various times for different pastors and teachers over my lifetime. I was able to preach at my Grandma Campbell’s church a couple of times, as well as preach behind pulpits made for my grandfather and my father. I have been blessed to be a speaker at Youth Camps and many different churches and a few denominations. I have also been blessed to publish books on scripture prayers to teach people to pray. Much of this is because of my desire to be like Jonathan. He was more than capable of being king, but knew the job was meant for David. Jonathan became a loyal friend, supporter, and protector of David. This quality of leading from behind has been a path I have learned to walk and enjoy. I have been able to assist many of my friends in the ministry by being more like Jonathan than like David. Help me to continue to give support to pastors, be loyal and supportive to my friends, and be a leader when called upon to lead. Let me be strong, wise, and courageous as Jonathan was.
Not that I speak regarding need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things, I have learned both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. My God will meet all my needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Amen. [Philippians 4:11-13; Philippians 4:19]
