Praying and Sacrificing for the Impossible, Hannah #5
Heavenly Father, I give You praise and honor and glory today. I bow my head in reverence to My Creator, King, and Savior. I can not praise You enough for creating me in Your image, with a purpose and the free will to fulfill it. I praise You for giving me talents, ministry, and the wisdom to serve Your will. I praise You for being a God of the impossible and for working Your righteousness into who I am over my lifetime.
Holy Spirit, when I consider the testimonies and examples of people You inspired to be written in Your word, I have to admit one woman stands out as very much like my grandmother. Hannah suffered years of humiliation in her culture, and she narrowed her prayers to one request, which she brought before You continuously. When You answered her prayer with Samuel, she honored her part of the prayer by bringing him to the temple at the time and leaving him to serve You. You would honor her with more children, but Samuel would become key to serving You as a replacement
for Eli and would be the spiritual leadership of his time. He would anoint two kings and be instrumental in prophesying and teaching. Hannah’s belief in a God who could do the impossible and then seeing the impossible happen is how my grandmother lived and prayed. I so desire to emulate and instill this kind of faith when I pray and how I live. I know and understand the price tag of humility and that Satan will attack me at my most vulnerable places in life to try to stop me from being the prayer warrior I was trained to be.
Let me live my life with the realization that heaven is my goal, and taking as many people along with me is my duty. Help me to pray with authenticity, sincerity, humility, and with the faith like Hannah that nothing is impossible for You, but to rely on Your timing and Your way of doing what will fulfill Your will the best way. In Jesus’ name, amen.
