Who Did You Expect?

(Christmas Season)

north Heavenly Father as we begin to celebrate the season of Your Son’s birth and coming to this earth, many people had expectations of what and who He would be. The funny thing is, it is also true today. Some people think Christ was this wonderful teacher, some think He was a fraud, Some think He just a good man that faced injustice, and some like me know Him as Savior, Redeemer, King of Kings.

Holy Spirit You inspired John to write, “The true Light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was created through Him, yet the world did not know Him.” [John 1:9&10] According to the reports through the gospel written by Luke the only people who recognized You for who You really were, were wise men from the east following the star as they were trained generationally by what many scholars believe was started by Daniel. The Shepherds, considered the country bumpkins and poorer sect of society, came once they witnessed the heavens open up and Angels declaring Your birth. Eight days later Simeon and Anna who both worshipped and served others in the Temple in Jerusalem for years, recognized the baby as the Messiah. How? They were in tune with Your Spirit. Help me to be so in tune with Your Spirit that I recognize Your presence when You come into a room or a group praying, or during worship, or in nature when others are searching for You. Help me to be so in tune that I hear when You speak and understand what it is You want me to know to serve You.

Help me to always testify who You are to all and any who ask me about You. Let my words honor You always. In Jesus’ name, amen.
