O Lord, I will honor and praise Your name, for You are my God. You do such wonderful things! You planned them long ago, and now You have accomplished them. You turn mighty cities into heaps of ruins. Cities with strong walls are turned to rubble. Beautiful palaces in distant lands disappear and will never be rebuilt. Therefore, strong nations will declare Your glory; ruthless nations will fear You. But You are a tower of refuge to the poor, O Lord, a tower of refuge to the needy in distress. You are a refuge from the storm and a shelter from the heat. The oppressive acts of ruthless people are like a storm beating against a wall. [Isaiah 25:1-4, NLT]
Holy Spirit, You inspired Isaiah to write: Say to those who are of a fearful heart, “Be strong, fear not. Behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; He will come and save you.” “Have you not known? Have you not heard that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint, nor is He weary? His understanding is inscrutable. He gives power to those who have no might. He increases strength. Even the youths shall fain and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint.” [Isaiah 35:4; 40:28-31] From the truth of this word, I can draw my strength from God and know that even though I am weak, I am made strong.
But indeed, for this purpose I have raised you, that I may show My power in all the earth. The Lord will bless me and keep me; the Lord makes his face shine upon me and be gracious to me; the Lord turns his face toward me and gives me peace. Amen. [Exodus 9:16; Numbers 6:24-26]
