I will bless the Lord who guides me; even at night, my heart instructs me. I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety. For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave. You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever. [Psalm 16:7-11(NLT)]
Holy Spirit, Your word says this of wisdom: Listen to counsel and accept instruction, that you may be wise in your future. To the person who is pleasing before Him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy…By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. It is He who changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings; He gives wisdom to those who know understanding. The wise will inherit honor, but fools get shame. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by [wisdom] your days will be multiplied, and years will be added to your life. [Proverbs 19:20; Ecclesiastes 2:26; Proverbs 24:3-4; Daniel 2:20-21; Proverbs 3:35 and 9:10&11]
Let me learn to cherish, seek, and ask You for wisdom so that I can grow, know joy, and live a long, fruitful life. Help me to take captive my thoughts, control my tongue, listen not only with my ears but with my heart and spirit, learn discernment from You so that I can truly live, and live at peace with my fellow man. Guide my heart, mind, spirit, and soul so that all my days are honoring to You, my Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
