What Shall I Say

Heavenly Father I praise You for the different translations written to give us different perspectives of Your inspired word. I praise You for being my Creator, Savior, Redeemer, my hope and my comforter. I praise You for sending the Holy Spirit to walk with me, lead me, inspire me and speak to me with wisdom and what Jesus wants me to know.

Holy Spirit help me to remember what Paul expressed in his letter to the Romans with Your inspiration. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may increase? God forbid! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? [Romans 6:172 MEV] Or put another way: So what do we do? Keep on sinning so God can keep on forgiving? I should hope not! If we’ve left the country where sin is sovereign, how can we still live in our old house there? {Romans 6:1&2 Message} Remind me that sin is anything that violates Your principles, or separates me from God. I know that mistakes are different than sin. I also know that God sees the intent of my heart and why I do what I do.

Holy Spirit teach me to be so focused on serving God that I have no time to entertain sin or temptations. Help me to be so involved in prayer, Your word, and doing Your will that I tune out the temptations of the world or the weak roar of my enemy the devil. Teach me to wear my spiritual armor and to stand the ground You give me to own. Help me to consider my steps and follow only the path You set before me. Help me to be so in tune that I sense Your Spirit giving me direction on how to make wise decisions. Help me to live a life so into Your presence that I draw others out of the world and sin instead of them pulling me back to my old life.

Holy Spirit I claim this before You and Jesus on the throne, I will with the best of all I have sacrifice my life, ambitions and desires to serve You with all my heart, all my mind and all of my body. I will put all my faith and trust in You and will turn away from anything that would separate my spirit from Yours. I will do my best to listen and respond to You when You speak or motivate me to do something. This is all that I have to offer. In the name of Jesus my savior, redeemer, king and hope, amen.
