What DoYou Do in a Storm?

Heavenly Father, we come to You this morning and claim it for You and Your kingdom. We
give You praise and honor and glory. We praise You for giving us an opportunity to help with building Your kingdom, which requires us to have faith and hope. We realize as Christ told the woman at the well that Your kingdom is made of Spirit and Truth. Let this be so in our lives.

Holy Spirit I come first to You to create a hedge of protection over my son and
the teens he is taking to a camp in Hawkins, Ohio with the Youth for Christ in
the Thumb Area of Michigan. I pray thatlives will be changed, salvation will become real, and fellowship and bonds will be made. I pray that you give wisdom and discernment to my son and the other leaders on this trip. Let this trip be the first step in growing a new generation of believers who will serve You and change their world.

Holy Spirit I am reminded of the disciples in the boat when a storm hits on two
different occasions. Once, Christ was not with them because he stayed to pray
on a mountain, the second time he was asleep in the boat. Both times they
feared the worst and only because they seen the physical Jesus did the storm
stop. I understand that the Holy Spirit had not yet fell on them and they were still learning what faith was. Let me, and those who pray with me have faith that You will get us through any storms we face in life. Help our faith to build trust in You and realize that we live in a sinful, destructive world and death is a real part of what we witness. Let us stand strong and weather any and all storms and keep the hope that is within us so that we can reach heaven and then never face storms again.

Holy Spirit help me to use Your word and Your promptings to face each day and to
take the steps with correct choices to keep moving and fulfilling the purpose
that God created me for. Let me be a light house to those who can not see their way through the storm so that they do not crash against the rocks of unbelief and sin. Let me shine my light so that others can have faith and trust that You are our savior and that nothing is impossible for You.

Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of
Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith—to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever,
Amen. (Romans16:25-27)
