What Color is God

Heavenly Father I praise You for my upbringing where, as a child, I had African Americans and Native Americans as neighbors and friends. I praise You for being taught to measure a person by their honesty, their integrity, and their willingness to work. I praise You for helping me as I have become an adult to continue to be friends for these reasons and not by what race or nationality they are. I praise You for teaching me that under You we are all the same, broken and lost until we accept Your salvation.

Holy Spirit help me to teach others that Your true color is light which has all the colors of the spectrum in it. Unlike darkness which is void of color, You possess them all. Help me to demonstrate that salvation is for anyone who is willing to turn from their sinful ways and follow You. Help me to always demonstrate, love, hope, and a heart that follows You no matter the cost. Help me to look at no one as lesser than myself. Help me to show hospitality to all for all people are Your creation and I am not at war with them. I fight spiritual battles as Your word tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5—For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Help me to reflect Your light so that people see me as Your follower not a person of a certain color or sect. Help me to act as Christ as not show partiality as He did here on the earth. Let me be a person who promotes and demonstrates Unity instead of a person who sows discourse. Help me to love all people for being Your creation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
