As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me. Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit darkness, the Lord will be my light. Because I have sinned against Him, I will bear the Lord’s wrath, until He pleads my case and upholds my cause. He will bring me out into the light; I will see his righteousness. [Micah 7:7-10]
Holy Spirit help me to join into the prayer that Paul wrote for the first century Christians that still applies to us now. Help me as I paraphrase the intent into my own words. “I will praise You, my God and Savior, for You have blessed me in the heavenly realms with all the power of Your Spirit and with every Spiritual tool I need to face this dark world. As David recorded in Psalms, You knew me and gave me all that I would ever need even before I was physically conceived. The plan along has been for me, Your creation, to become adopted into Your family as a child of God, through the gift of salvation offered by Christ since His death and resurrection. Our redemption comes from the blood of Christ bled out on the cross and our hope comes from His defeating the grave through His resurrection. Now, because I choose to dedicate my life fully to not only accepting the gift of salvation but living my life the way He has always intended me to live, using every gift, every piece of wisdom and discernment He allows my mind and spirit to comprehend, to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. I now know that Christ chose me when He died on the cross and when I learn to buy in, trust and faithfully follow Him, I will conform to His will, His plan, and His pleasure. I am now marked by God as His child, His warrior, His person of prayer, His voice her and now, and His living sacrifice, who demonstrates to the world that You reign and that Your power is greater than anything this world could even conceive of demonstrating. I will testify, praise and tell of Your love until the day I no longer breathe the air of this world but step into my rightful place in eternity.” [Ephesians 1:3-14]
Holy Spirit I continue to pray over Kayla, who has to face many side effects from her treatments, and yet she continues to glorify You. I continue to pray for healing and strength for Jim, who battles cancer, but he still trusts, believes, and follows You. I continue to believe in a full miracle for little Grayson that so far doctors can not fully explain why he has seizures. Let him grow to be the miracle that the world can not explain away.
Holy Spirit give me the faith and insight that Elisha had when he spoke, “So, he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. So, when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, and said, “Strike these people, I pray, with blindness.” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.” [2Kings 6:16-18] Open my eyes and help me to pray for others’ eyes to open to the spiritual world that surrounds us and is where the real battle is. Help me to be a prayer warrior that prays with humility, power, and discernment so that I come into Your throne room and pray as an advocate for family, friends, prisoners, and acquaintances seeking You, and petitioning for what is within Your will so that others can learn to trust You no matter the trials or tribulations they are facing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
