Let me Be Ready Daily for Your Throne Room

How lovely is Your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young—a place near Your alter, Lord Almighty, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; they are ever praising You. [Psalm 84:1-4]

Holy Spirit I come before You and ask for mercy and forgiveness. I do not listen well and I get distracted almost as bad as my students. Forgive me for the sins I have committed and cover them with the blood of Christ so that my name remains in the book of life. Help me to learn to listen more and talk less. Help me to focus on Your word, Your wisdom and be more discerning. Let me let go of the misguided idea that I have any real control. Let me remember that only through humility can I enter Your throne room.

Holy Spirit I ask for a hedge of protection over my wife, children, and grandchildren. I ask for You to continue to pursue the ones who need to learn salvation and for strength for those who have already accepted Your salvation. I pray for the healing of those who have come to me for prayer and to watch over any and all requests that have been given me. I pray for health for my grandchildren so they can continue to go to school and grow in instruction.

I come into Your throne room and ask that You watch over all four of my classes in the prison and let Your Spirit dwell in my room, my heart and in my words. Let them learn and finish their GED requirements and see You in me. Help me to do my job correctly since I work for You. I pray that those who read my prayers find You and Your Spirit in their own lives and draw close to You.

The end of all things is near. Therefore, be clear-minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:7-11
