Walking in Unity is Hard

Heavenly Father, I praise You even when I feel alone and unworthy of Your salvation and love. I praise You for giving me the drive to live one more day when it would be easy to just give up. I praise You for making me realize through Your word that I am wonderfully and uniquely made with a purpose only I can accomplish for Your kingdom. Help me today to take command of my day through Your Holy Spirit and reveal the sin and temptations in front of me so that I do not stumble or fail in achieving my purpose for today.

Holy Spirit, You inspired Paul to write: “I beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” [Ephesians 4:2-6] Holy Spirit, I am a man who does not tolerate well and need to work on this area of my life. I am very cut and dry in how I accept things, and I know this of myself. Help me not only to be forgiving but to have better patience with people and realize that people will fail me, but You do not, and through You I can still learn to love and be merciful even when it is not much of my character anymore.

And this is my prayer: let my love abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that I may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. Amen. Philippians 1:9-11
