Heavenly Father, I praise You today for making me part of a spiritual family through Christ. I praise You that we may not be perfect, we make mistakes, but we have the covenant of Your word that gives us salvation as long as we accept this gift and keep it within us. I know I can walk away from this covenant on my end, but that is too frightening of a concept to do. I have lost much in this world, but I have much in heaven stored for my welcoming home when I go. Help me today to shake the evil from my life and to abide in You.
Holy Spirit, the church that is recorded in Acts, prayed and was so united in spirit that the building shook. I pray with many people praying these prayers with me either through email or on my website. Help us to unite and pray so that we shake our world, our communities, and our church. Help us to pray sincerely and with humility, knowing that only through faith and belief in an all-powerful God can anything truly be moved or accomplished. Help us no matter where we are to pray. Help us to pray for the sick like my cousin Ann, who has cancer, for the hurting like my friend Kara, who needs healing, for the ones who have been betrayed like my friend Mike, and pray for those who have walked away from their faith and have found themselves in the folly of sin, which You know their names, God. I unite in prayer, asking that You remove and break those who have been spiritual leaders who now lead others in sin. I pray that You will help our churches to be united, faithful, and encouraging to others with an attitude of forgiveness and love. I pray that You move on this new generation and make them prayer warriors with knowledge and wisdom of demonstrating their faith and their spiritual courage. Help us to defeat the Goliaths that taunt us with the power of this world. For through faith we know that You have overcome the world. Help us to be doers of the word and living temples that shine Your light.
The end of all things is near. Therefore, be clear-minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:7-11
