Heavenly Father, I praise You that You not only know our hearts but also know what happens to us and how we respond. You know the very core of who I am and how I react to all events. You understand me better than I understand myself. You know, and that comforts me when I come to talk to You. You are not only the God who created all, but You are a God who cares about each of us individually.
I have enemies who seek to ruin my reputation and to tarnish my work as a leader. I have those who gossip against me and those who tell my bosses how bad a leader I am. I can only plead to You, O God, examine me and let me know my errors and help me learn to be better. After that, I let You defend me, for vengeance is Yours according to Your word. I will leave all this in Your hands. I just request that I gain wisdom and knowledge on how to properly handle criticism and accusations so that I do not sin or cause harm.
Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offences, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore, I am glad on your behalf, but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. (Romans 16:17-20)
