To Those Who Serve or Have Served

Heavenly Father, I praise You for being my high Tower and my protector. I praise You for the strength You give me each day, just to get up and face the day. I praise You for making me part of Your plan, and for teaching me to live in it. Although nothing goes perfectly according to my plans, I have learned to live in Your will and way. Help me take command of today and shake all the evil from it. Let me be the spiritual umbrella for my family.

Holy Spirit, I come and ask for mercy and protection for the men and women who are serving in the armed forces right now. I know a few, and a few who will be joining. Help them to be strong, focused, wise, and learn to lean on You. Protect them from having to engage in war unless there is no option. Help them as they protect us. Holy Spirit bless those who have served and now live with scars, pains, memories, and other effects from being called upon in times of war, police actions, or natural disasters. Bless them for their sacrifice. Help us also to honor those who paid the ultimate

price and gave their life for us to be free and to live in peace.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. [2Corinthians 1:3-7; Galatians 1:3-5]
