Incline Your ear, O Lord, and answer me, for I am oppressed and needy. Preserve my soul, for I am godly; You are my God; save Your servant who trusts in You. Have mercy on me, O Lord, for to You I cry all day long. Gladden the soul of Your servant, for to You, O Lord, I lift my soul. Holy Spirit after the feeding of the five thousand recorded in Matthew the disciples took a boat and headed out to sea when a storm rose up and they were afraid. At this point Christ came along, walking on the water. Peter, realizing it was Jesus asked him to call him out to walk on the water forgetting the storm around him. Jesus told him to come and Peter got out and began to walk on the water until he suddenly took his focus off Jesus and seen the storm around him, at this point he began to sink and had to cry out to Christ to save him. Christ reached down, pulled him up and they walked together and got into the boat. Holy Spirit help me to ignore the storm around me and put all my focus on You so that I can step out on faith and walk in a way that is so unexpected that others will realize that only because of You could I walk this way. Help me not to take my focus of You for even a second and notice the storm and confusion around me. Let me stand firmly, with my focus so in tuned to Your Spirit that I walk fully filled with Your Presence in my life so that I can witness to many people all that You do in my life.
Holy Spirit help me to narrow my focus onto You and Your word so that I eliminate the unnecessary things consuming my time and energy. Help me to dream big dreams that please You and then have the courage to trust You to help me fulfill them. Help me to pray with Your wisdom, speak with Your message on my tongue, renew my mind with understanding and knowledge of who You are. Help me to build Your kingdom here on the earth. Help my books to reach many people, my prayers on the website to reach more and when I have the opportunity to speak in front of people that I will let Your Spirit flow through me to convict the hearts of many and to emboldened or encourage people to follow and trust in You.
Holy Spirit help me to take to heart Christ’s words, “The person who trusts me will not only do what I am doing but even greater things, because I, on my way to the Father, am giving you the same work to do that I’ve been doing. You can count on it. From now on, whatever you request along the lines of who I am and what I am doing, I’ll do it. That’s how the Father will be seen for who he is in the Son. I mean it. Whatever you request in this way, I’ll do.” [John 14:12-14, The Message] So I am requesting to do be used in Your work and to accomplish what You need me to accomplish with the Spirit working within me to give me discernment and wisdom of what to do, say and how to respond to the needs around me. Let me serve You until I can come home. Amen.
