Seeking Your Guidance

Heavenly Father as this year nears its end, I seek guidance for the new year we will enter. I praise You for providing the Holy Spirit to lead me as I walk in the Spirit and provides me with wisdom. I praise You for the salvation that came through Christ to help me have a relationship with You and to understand that I am now Your child. I praise You for Your longsuffering of my blundering and my attempts sometimes to walk outside Your guardrails You have placed beside me to help me stay on the narrow way.

Your word promises: You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. You in Your mercy have led forth the people whom You have redeemed; You have guided them in Your strength to Your holy habitation. The humble You guide in justice and teach the humble Your way. You, say, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” For this is God, Our God forever and ever; You will be my guide even to death. [Psalm 73:24; Exodus 15:13; Psalm 25:9; Psalm 32:8; Psalm 48:14]

This year, Holy Spirit I ask that You guide me to live life as fully as I can to fulfill the purpose You have specifically designated for me. Help me to learn to love, forgive, and grow in all the fruits of the Spirit. Let me be diligent about putting on all of my Spiritual Armor so that I can withstand the devil and all that he throws at me. Let me walk so that all will know You live within me and that You are my everything. Help me to grow to be the husband, father, and grandfather I need to be. Let this year be a year that I expand my territory and become stronger as I face new challenges and I have to adjust to change. Let me be a bearer of hope not of despair. And help me to encourage those I can, give wisdom to those who need it, and be ready to answer the hope that is within me.

I thank my God always concerning the grace of God which was given to me by Christ Jesus, that I am enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in me, so that I come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm me to the end, that I may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom I am called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. [1Corinthians 1:4-9]
