Immanuel

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends You, and leads me along the path of everlasting life. Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift my soul. [Psalm 139:23&24; Psalms 143:8]

Holy Spirit, You inspired Isaiah to prophesy: “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” [Isaiah 7:14] When Jesus came He fulfilled this prophecy when Mary was chosen as the virgin to carry and give birth to Jesus. Immanuel means God with Us and this is such a bedrock to my faith and trust in You. I can only go on and live because of the knowledge of knowing You are with me. Each year gets harder to withstand the evil, and sin of this world and the hatred, evil, darkness, and loss. After losing Philip my only hope has been that You are with me. Remember the word to Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope.

Plead my cause and redeem me; Revive me according to Your Word. Give me understanding according to Your word. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do. Listen to me, you stubborn-hearted, you who are far from righteousness. I am bringing my righteousness near, it is not far away, and my salvation will not be delayed. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before me. I rest in these promises from You and ask that I be led to follow the path You have placed before me so that I can fulfill my purpose. In Jesus’ name Amen. [Psalms 119:49; Psalms 119:154; Psalms 119:169; Isaiah 41:10; Isaiah 46:10-13; Isaiah 49:16]
