Heavenly Father, I praise You for being our creator and for making us unique. I praise You for giving us the ability to think, reason, focus, have memories, and for all of our senses to enjoy the world You created. I praise You for instilling in us emotions that motivate and push us and help us interact with others. Help me today to take command of my day and shake all the evil from it.
Holy Spirit, You inspired Paul to write in his letter to the Romans that we need to learn to be a living sacrifice and to renew our minds. Later in another letter, he tells us what to focus on: But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Let those of us who are mature be thus minded. And if you think differently in any way, God will reveal even this to you. Nevertheless, according to what we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us agree. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. [Matthew 6:33; Philippians 3:15&16; Philippians 4:8]
Holy Spirit, I am to daily renew my mind, be a living sacrifice for Your glory, walk as a living temple where Your Spirit can reside in me, and teach me wisdom and discernment. I am to arm myself with spiritual armor to be able to withstand the attacks of Satan and to stand courageous and mighty against sin that tries to destroy who I am in You. Help me to wear this armor with diligence and to produce the fruits of the spirit in my life by being connected to You, the living vine, so that my labors are not in vain.
And this is my prayer: let my love abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that I may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. Amen. Philippians 1:9-11
