Remember, The Battle is the Lord’s

Heavenly Father I praise You for being above all, in all, and in control. I praise You for allowing us to participate in Your plans and to be used by You for the betterment of Your kingdom. I praise You that at all times we have a choice so that we can demonstrate our love, loyalty, faith and belief in You.

When David stood before Goliath he said, “then all this assembly will know that it is not by sword and spear that the Lord saves. For the battle belongs to the Lord, and He will give you into our hands.” David publically declared that anything he was to succeed in would only be because of You. Help me to take this example, this lesson and make it a part of my life and who I am. Let me always remember that every battle, every giant problem, every mountain of chaos, I will publically declare that the battle is Yours and that I serve You and that my success depends solely on You.

Holy Spirit help me to fend of anxiety by giving all my problems over to God. Help me to realize that I must do my part but that I need final results to rest in His hands. Help me to take comfort that it is not about me and I but a small soldier in a fight that the victory has already been assured. Let me take a step back, breathe in Your Spirit, Your wisdom, Your word and recharge the power within me. Let me take the breath of life with the realization that You fill me, consume me and that I abide in You.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen. 1Peter 5:6-11
