Recalibrating My Thoughts

Heavenly Father, I praise You for being a forgiving Father and for grace and mercy. I praise You for trusting us enough to allow us to choose salvation. I give You praise for all of creation and my small part in it. Help me today to take command of my day and shake the evil from it.

Your word says that if we humble ourselves and pray, seek Your face and turn from our wicked ways, then You will hear from heaven, and will forgive our sins and heal our land. [2Chronicles 7:14, MEV] I come before You and confess my sins and the sins of my community, state, and country. I unite with others who humble themselves and ask that You not turn Your back on me, my community, my state, or my country. Help me to daily if not hourly, renew my mind with Your word, with good devotionals, with music, with listening to testimonies and doing as your word says: Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these

things. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For God is the One working in you, both to will and to do His good pleasure. Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe. [Philippians 4:8, Philippians 2:12&13; Philippians 2:14&15]

Holy Spirit, help me to be the living temple that draws people to You and shines Your light and allows Your Spirit to work through me for Your use as a living sacrifice so that people can be saved by the moving of Your Holy Spirit. Help me to be one of many conduits You use daily to complete Your will.

Since I am receiving a kingdom that cannot be moved, let me be gracious, by which I may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For God, You are my consuming fire. I will perpetuate brotherly love to continue. I will not forget to entertain strangers, knowing that at times that has meant entertaining Angels unknowingly. I will remember

those who have been imprisoned around the world for their faith and join with them in prayer and solidarity. I will stand with and remember those who have been abused, berated, or beaten because of being a child of God, and will identify with them no matter the cost. I will honor my marriage and keep my bed undefiled. I will let God judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. I will use money but never love it or desire it so that it never interferes with my devotion to God. I will learn to be content with what I have, for I know Your word says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So that I can always boldly proclaim, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear, what can man do to me?” I will remember those who rule over me, who have proclaimed to me the word of God. I will follow their faith, considering the results it has produced in their lives. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. In Jesus’ name I anchor my salvation, amen. [Hebrews 13:28-8, MEV and my paraphrase]
