Heavenly Father, I praise You for being all-powerful and mighty. You are my strong fortress, and the spiritual armor You provide me keeps me safe and able to do battle against evil. You have proven over and over that you are not only King but the Victor over all that is the world we know and Lord of Heaven. Help me today to take command of my day and shake the evil from it.
Holy Spirit, Your word says: for though I walk in the flesh, I do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of my warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. [2 Corinthians 10:3-5] You also give us wisdom about praying for hedges around our families, community, and ourselves by the example of Job when Satan challenges that he can not touch Job because of those hedges mentioned in Job 1:10. I understand that one of my strongest weapons in life is praying and claiming Your word, which is a double-edged
sword. I pray today that You put a hedge around my family, my property, my church, and around a personal friend who needs Your protection and wisdom right now. I pray that You teach me and those I pray for how to use our spiritual armor properly and fully as we wage a war against evil, sin, darkness, apathy, bitterness, rebellion, and lost hope. Let us be faithful to pray and fast so that we can see Your mighty hand move mountains of fear, darkness, and clear a way for us to live and to live fully in Your grace, will, and salvation.
The end of all things is near. Therefore, be clear-minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast. To him be the power forever and ever. Amen. [1 Peter 4:7-11; 1Peter 5:6-11]
