Praying Over Pastors and Churches

Sing to the Lord a new song, His praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them.  Let the wilderness and its towns raise their voices; let the settlements where Kedar lives rejoice. Let the people of Sela sing for joy; let them shout from the mountaintops. Let them give glory to the Lord and proclaim His praise in the islands. The Lord will march out like a champion, like a warrior He will stir up His zeal; With a shout He will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies. (Isaiah 42:10-13 NIV)

Heavenly Father we can’t wait for the day of Your return but we also are striving each day to bring Your kingdom here as it is in heaven.  We praise You for not being a God made of wood, gold, or myth, but a living breathing God who seeks fellowship with us daily.  Heavenly Father my soul cries out to You today, I still suffer from the loss of my son.  I ask that You would show mercy to heal Kayla and Trinity so that they can live life fully and praise You the rest of their lives.

Heavenly Father I ask that You would inspire all the pastors I pray for each week and help them to take time to see just how special this life You have created is.  Help them to take a breath now and then and enjoy their families.  Help them to cherish their times of joy and use that to get them through their times of sorrow.  Give them discernment and compassion for their flocks.  Teach them how to be true shepherds.  Help them to feed Your sheep as You asked Peter to do.

Help all the churches and organizations I pray for to put their trust in You and to grow and reach out to those the world has cast aside.  Help them to demonstrate mercy, grace and Your love.  Help them to learn what hospitality really means.  Help them to exemplify Romans 12.  Let them learn to be living sacrifices, and to seek renewal of their minds, bodies and spirit.  Help them to learn to love at all times and to as Paul would say later, help them to be to all people what they need so that they can see and learn the love of God and get salvation.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.  For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.  If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. (2Corinthians 1:3-7)  Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.  (Galatians 1:3-5)
