I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning—yes, more than those who watch for the morning. I will give thanks to the Lord, for He is Good! His Faithful love endures forever. I will give thanks to the God of gods. His faithful love endures forever. I will give thanks to the Lord of lords. His faithful love endures forever. I will give thanks to Him who alone does mighty miracles. His faithful love endures forever. I give thanks to Him who made the heavens so skillfully. His faithful love endures forever. I give thanks to Him who placed the earth among the waters. His faithful love endures forever. I give thanks to Him who made the heavenly lights for His mercy endures forever; the sun to rule the day, for His mercy endures forever; and the moon and stars to rule the night, His faithful love endures forever. [Psalms 130:5&6; Psalm 136:1-9]
Holy Spirit I come daily to You in the morning and all through the day to speak, listen, and walk with You so that I can grow in wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and discernment. I seek to constantly renew my mind and to stay focused on You. I have been tested and put through the fires of life and without You, I would crumble and be destroyed. I only can face each day, each moment, each trial, and each decision with the knowledge and comfort of knowing You are with me at all times. I am but a shell of what I used to be. I endure each day with the loss of my son, and the loss of many who have made an impact on my life. I continue to push forward knowing that they are with You in heaven. I continue to endure this life and all the enemy tries to do to me. I continue to face each moment that tears at my heart and tries to tempt my mind to lose control or focus. I dig deeply into meditating and growing from Your word. I trust those who You put into my life to continually encourage me and stand with me as I face life’s trials.
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of suffering. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast. To him be the power forever and ever. Amen. 1Peter 5:6-11
