Praying James 5

Heavenly Father I praise You for my wife, children, and grandchildren. I praise You for teaching me to be a husband, father, and grandfather. I praise You for making me with a purpose to fulfill and having Your Holy Spirit leading me to try and fulfill that purpose.

Holy Spirit help me today to pray the scriptures of wisdom from James in chapter 5: “Let me be wise with the money You provide and unlike the rich who are deaf and prideful, let my money be used to build Your kingdom. Don’t let me store treasures here on the earth that will never really bring me joy, instead let me store up treasures in heaven that will be eternal and bring joy to You and me.

Help me to become like the farmer and sow good seed, and then be patient until You come back, or I die and go to eternity. Let the seeds I sow, become a harvest for Your kingdom. Let my heart stay strong and get stronger as I feel You getting nearer. Let me not complain, or complain about others for there is no profit in it but the price of strife and stress. Help me to endure, face my trials, and storms with the faith that says You will walk beside me as I push through and that my reward awaits me in heaven.

Holy Spirit let my words be truthful and sincere. Let me say yes or no with confidence and then stand by what I say. Let my yes be to You and my no be to the things of this world. Let me rest completely on You, and let me do my share of pulling in life on my end of the yoke.

Holy Spirit continue to let me join with my brothers and sisters in praying for those who are suffering, those who are sick, and those who are broken. Help me to rejoice with those who rejoice, and mourn with those who grieve. Help me to believe in Your healing power, but also understand that I do not always know or understand Your will in some peoples’ lives. Help me to always pray with faith that nothing is impossible for You, but also with the humility that Your thoughts are higher than mine. Let me pray Your word so that I stand on Your words, Your wisdom, and Your desires for us. Help me to pray for those who have walked away from their faith, until they return to their faith or die. Let me be faithful to pray and not judge, let me be earnest and constant in these prayers because no one should go to hell when they can have salvation. In Jesus’ name, amen.
