Praise and Remembering

I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; with my mouth I will make known Your faithfulness to all generations. For I have said, “ Mercy shall be built up forever; Your faithfulness shall be established in the heavens.” You have said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one; I have sworn to David my servant: ‘Your offspring I will establish forever, and build up your throne for all generations,’” Selah Let the heavens praise Your wonders, O Lord; Your faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones. For who in the skies can be compared to the Lord? God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the holy ones and awesome to all those who surround Him. O Lord God of Hosts, who is a mighty Lord, like You, with Your faithfulness all around You? You rule the raging of the sea; when the waves arise, You still them. You crushed Rahab like a corpse; You scattered Your enemies with Your strong arm. The heavens are Yours; the earth also is Yours; the world and all that is in it You have founded them. [Psalm 89:1-11]

Holy Spirit I bring praise to the throne room today. You blessed Joe while he spoke to Your congregation. You blessed this weekend so we could plant a garden. You have shown mercy to my family as we once again move through a memorial weekend without Philip. You have taught us that there can be no joy if we do not learn to praise You even when life is going rough.

Holy Spirit I ask that You touch my daughter Rachel and help the doctors to figure out what is causing her to break out on half her body and to find the right medicine to help her heal or for Your touch to heal her body. Help her as she has to walk a delicate line between medications and feeding Emmerich. Holy Spirit we continue to pray healing for Jim and Kayla and that You would make them whole once again.

Holy Spirit I praise You for the men and women who served in the military and those who laid down their lives or sacrificed their time, physical abilities and their mental abilities to make sure we as a nation can continue to enjoy freedom. Help us to not take for granted the sacrifice that allows me and all my countrymen to be able to worship freely without fear of imprisonment. The ability to speak what I feel needs to be said and for others to speak freely also. Holy Spirit help us to hold dear these freedoms and not give any of them up to a government that could easily become tyrannical.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and be deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen. [2 Timothy 2:15&16; 2 Timothy 3:12-15]
